Thanks neomits and thank you buckeye82 for the well wishes.

I was a bit optimistic about the rendering time for the DVD, but I gotta do it for my boy. I used a some basic DVD authoring software from Roxio, so I will have to use DVD Shrink to get it under 4.5 gigs. All in all, both the Divx and DVD should be ready around 5:30 to 6:00. Keep in mind that I may do all the games as DVDs and if so, I will redo this game with a better menu and a cleaner edit (with a NLE). If nothing else, a download of the DVD files provides some portability.

I'll post again when the torrents are done.

woody, what is your source that you're going to use for the DVDs. If we win it all I can see a DVD set of the tournament games being very popular. I've been capturing the HD footage of all the games and can use that to make high quality DVDs. The only thing I'm not very good at is making any sort of menu or anything.

I can probably assist with menus if you decide to go that route. Personally I think HD XviD/DivX might be the way to go. Something around 4-5kbps seems to produce really nice quality and comes in around the size of a DVD. It doesn't have the presentation of DVD but at 1280x720P it looks damn good viewed on the PC.

I have some Sonic software I may try. I have never used it before and I'm not sure how steep the learning curve is. Considering I'd like to get the files into an NLE to get good cuts and add transitions, then it's likely I will use either Pinnacle Studio or Adobe Premiere Elements 2. I prefer PE2, but it has audio sync issues with mpeg at times. I've always liked timBUCK2's video background (as opposed to an image). I'd even like to include perhaps a basketball or other gimmicks as buttons, but I don't really know if any of my software is capable of such (perhaps from Photoshop Elements to PE2...of course my Photoshop work could be laughable:biggrin:).

I'm using Roxio's "DVD Builder" for the current creation. It is simple and straight forward with few extras, but it was bundled with my DVD burner so I can't complain. A compression tool would have been nice though.

Judging from your previous posts related to digital video, I'd guess that you've got a decent grip on what you are doing. In fact, I would not be surprised if you are at least as capable as me when it comes to authoring. From what I've read anything from Sonic is good to go. Also, it seems that the latest NLE versions have improved in DVD authoring. While you may wish to stay in the HD platform. you may consider DVD-9 to reduce the amount of compression needed for ordinary DVDs. I would think that nearly all the retail authoring apps offer dual layer.

Btw, 6:30 - 7:00 is sounding about right for the torrents. I was hoping the rendering would go bit faster. Sorry.

yea, maybe I'll leave the DVD copies to someone else (woody) like I did with the football games a make some 4.5 gig HD copies of the games.

I don't know about that....LMAO. I pretty much created the DVD files for last nights game ass backwards. I used the previously mentioned software (which doesn't compress imported files to fit), imported over 5 gigs, encoded and then tried other software to compress. After an error message and much time wasted I think I'm done with that bright idea. At this point I think my son is going to get a further compressed game for his iPod.:(

The Divx is good to go though and you can find the link on the first page. The tracker looks good and I just double checked to assure that the file is intact and working. I apologize for the wait.

I've actually used Nero in the past to convert my mpegs to DVD and it has worked ok.

If we win it all, I don't mind making multiple formats available to people

Deleware - did you get all of the UConn game in HD? Mine switched over to SD a little ways into the second half and never switched back. Not sure if it was a local feed problem or a national feed problem.

Just a note for anyone interested:

I won't be able to offer the Divx of the Memphis game until Sunday evening, but I will have the other torrents running. In addition, CBS said there will be interviews with Thad and players at the next game's half. If someone could capture that and torrent it back to me, I would appreciate it. If nothing else maybe I might catch something on ESPN or WBNS tonight.

Great job at the free throw line, but I must admit that the officials had me kicking my computer chair all over the place the first half.

Lighty really stepped up. Great job David. It seems like Cook is finally looking to the rim. Another fine team effort.

Is anyone else having trouble with the Tennessee game? I am below 1Kbs.

I took down my client at about 8:00 to edit and convert the Memphis game, but it seemed to be running fine.

I am about halfway through the conversion, so it should be ready shortly after Midnight. Since it will be that late, I probably won't post the torrent or start my client until after I defrag a couple of drives....video takes it's toll. Like I mentioned before, another machine sure would be beneficial....maybe by next season.

Btw, I spent the day with my son and I wasn't able to get any vid of net cutting, interviews etc. As requested before, I sure would appreciate it if anyone has this captured.
