Top Ohio HS Programs (Split)

You should take Colerain out and at least put Harding in there especially even before St.X,Eds, and Colerain

That coming from an unbiased source, of course. Just kidding, I know Harding's been pretty good lately, but going by D1 recruits (which I'm sure the recruiting services prefer to go by), Glenville probably would qualify as the "top program in Ohio".

Harding is one of the most overrated schools around. From the talent pool they have to draw from, and all the 'transfer ' players they've received the last 5 years, yet have not won a championship since Korey Stringer was there. They've got a good program, but they have not won anything.

I'd keep them behind X, Colerain, Elder, and Iggy.

What's the criteria? Talent or championships? Coaching is a huge factor. God Bless Ted Ginn, Sr., but from what I read, last year he was outcoached in the state Semis or wherever they lost.

In determining who sends more quality product to DI-A you have to look at the raw talent.

In determining who puts it into the nicest game-winning cocktail on the field then you have to really look at the quality and breadth of some of the more traditional programs, probably, like Elder and what Colerain is doing and of course Eds, Ignatius and X when it comes to DI OHIO Ball, but then there are other programs like Bennies, Ursuline, Mentor Lake Cath who are no slouches; Watterson. Just to name a few off the top of my Florida head.

Harding and probably McKinley are right up there in talent (take the NEOhio Bias with a grain of salt, I'm an Akronite). Glenoak and Perry to a lesser extent.

Bonus (almost irrelevant) info:
McDaniels' ego has got him thinking that Massillon is some sleeping giant, but that town has probably lost a good deal of its population over the last several decades (losses in manufucturing (see Akron and Y-town)) and probably has no greater talent pool than Stow or Cuyahoga Falls with an aged population of say no greater than 54,000 souls.

Canton Mckinley definetly up there as one of Ohio's top HS programs along with a list of fine programs such as Glenville/Eds/Iggys/X/Elder/Harding

i mean even tho mckinley got thrashed by Colerain they still went that far and sure they had a lot of talent like they had Brinson but think about other great Mckinley teams, like when they had Doss- or Everett

What? I'm not a Colerain fan by any means or have any affiliation with them but to say they just got good in the last 3-4 years is crazy.
Since 1994, they've had seven 10-0 regular season records (94, 95, 98, 00, 01, 03, 04) and went 9-1 in 02 (losing to eventual state champion Elder in the regular season and playoffs).

I'm not a Moe fan by any means, but it's kind of funny that people are mentioning X but not Moe, who has, I don't know, like sixteen more state championships than X. Let's just leave it at this: the big three Catholic schools in Cincy are all tough. Moe does send some nice players to the Bucks, too. Hamby is the only current one, I think.

Glenville is now a DI power because of its recruiting notoriety. Way more DI recruits than the GCL schools, but they aren't necessarily a "better" team or program. Brookhaven last year was a good team that had scads of top-notch recruits, and they deserve being mentioned in same breath as Glenville.
