My favorite Jim Gray quote of all time whas when he walked up to Dan Jansen right after falling at the Olympics (forget which time) and stuck a mike in his face and said "What happened out there Dan? Was the ice slippery out there?" At which point Jansen turned and angrily replied "It's ice...of course it's slippery."

I'm surprised Chris Schenkel is as low on the list as he is.

There's a guy in the top 5 that I'm sure will infuriate many Buckeye fans.

History will be made on Sunday when John Madden and Al Michaels call Super Bowl XLIII for NBC, as Madden will be completing a career cycle of sorts by working a Super Bowl for his fourth of the four major networks: CBS, Fox, ABC and NBC.
Madden has been slowing down some of late, taking a game off in 2008 with plans to do so again in 2009. NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol named Cris Collinsworth to be Madden’s successor-in-waiting, but so far Madden has refuted talk of retirement.............

Brings back some memories there! Back in the 70s, I was actually a really good bowler. Saturdays always consisted of watching the PBA Tour leading up to the ABC College Football Game of the week. If we were lucky, we got to see the Buckeyes 2-3 times a season.

Back in the late 50s/early 60s on the CBS MLB game of the week (only one game was televised nationally each Saturday) Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese did the game.

and if we were lucky Dizzy would sing "The Walbash Cannonball".....

Dizzy Dean used to break into Wabash Cannonball during his baseball broadcasts...the song, derived from an 18th century folk song, was popularized first by The Carter Family but most famously by Roy Acuff.
