Toledo: We have the weapons and talent to beat Ohio State

In a recent article about their 2011 schedule, some Toledo football players commented on their chances to upset the Buckeyes, most notably how they had "the weapons and talent to beat Ohio State."

One player also guaranteed to win the MAC in the article, even siting that winning the league wasn't "one of their main concerns."

How do you feel about their thoughts? Were they too cocky? Were they to be expected from a Division I athlete? Share your thoughts below.
 
He did, and I nuked it because it was just a link. I told him he can repost if he does so 'properly', but explained there really wasn't much to discuss here. Toledo thinks they can win -- super -- it would be sort of sad if they just accepted their fate this far in advance.

Toledo thinks very highly of their offense, but they don't have a realistic chance in hell with their defense to win the game. Syracuse in the Carrier dome is a different matter, though.

MAC smack checklist:

1) "They haven't seen a player(s) like X/y/z" who is usually a transfer/reject from a middle tier BCS school.

2) 30+ point ass beating beating the last time was due to a few key plays/bad officiating/MAC team not playing hard enough.

3) Grandiose delusions of victory extrapolated from some obscure moment of mediocrity.

4) Post beat down revival of #2 "if it weren't for this that and the other we are right in that game not down 47-7" etc etc.

5) "oh well, they just had too much talent. No one seriously expected us to compete with them."

Toledo's key to beating Ohio State: hope and pray that another [strike]five[/strike] fifty Buckeyes get suspended prior to the game. Maybe they can beat our third-stringers and walk-ons.
