To cheer or not to cheer

Before the game, I think, "If X beats Y, it helps Ohio State because Y is ahead of the Bucks in the standings. I should root for Team X." Often, Team X is Michigan. But during the game, I find myself rooting for Team Y.

But if Ohio State has lost already that day, I want every other team in the country to lose. Starting with Michigan.

Also, this year I'm rooting for Michigan to have a CRAPPY season. What's their record now? 5-3? I'd love to see them end 5-6.

IMO I think that the better team wins because they played, or managed to pull off a win, I don't necessarily "root" for a team because of their name.
