To boo or not to boo - when does it go too far?

I was at the game. And I did not boo. I almost felt bad for the guy. On one hand I will admit that I don't like Justin Zwick. I think he has an attitude that does not help the situation. I have heard him talk around campus and to say he is a bit cocky is an understatement. That being said I still could not find it in me to boo him for throwing some shitty passes. It was not even forty degrees and miserable. It was a spring game and people need to calm down a bit.

"if you show up for a spring game and get that kind of weather youre already pissed off....."

Not an excuse--these kids had to play in that weather, while the fans chose to come out and support their team, and at darn good price.

As for expectations, that's the fans' problem, not the player's: JZ should not be held to any higher set of standards than any other Buckeye. (And I thought his WRs generally did a terrible job holding onto the ball)
i would have rather been playing than sitting in the rain just freezing my ass off. i guarantee you they were warmer than i was.

I saw at least one player putting his hands in a teammate's handwarmers while on the field (it actually looked quite gay), which suggests the players were pretty chilly down there.
i didnt say it was 80 on the field....im just saying i guarantee while you are playing in a sporting event you dont feel the cold or the rain or whatever the same way the fans do. youre moving around, youve got your mind on other things. fans are just sitting there freezing their asses off wondering why they didnt get a prime B-Deck seat instead of sitting in the front row for over an hour with nothing to show for it.

That's your own fault then for not dressing properly. All I had was a raincoat and a poncho and I was fine. I hated playing in weather like Saturday because there was no way to get around the cold. You can't wear warm clothes because they just get wet, heavy and cold.

Can't argue that one (SNOW?!?). Although, besides those few hours of spring game action, I must say the weather was perfect for watching the draft all weekend...

...but it wasnt just his performance that game that lead to the boos. he was billed as the best QB in recent OSU history, he was supposed to start the 2002 season until belisorry got drunk and CK took command...

So how is that Zwick's fault? It's the fucking fans and media that build a 17- or 18-year-old kid up to be the next savior of the program (anyone remember that clown "ZwickSavior" over on BustNuts three years ago?), and when he doesn't light up the world, he's worthless. Keep in mind that the guy that "beat out" Zwick for the starting job led us to a 25-2 record over two seasons, two BCS bowl wins, and a national title.

I also didn't like the booing for Justin Zwick, and when he was announced I clapped for him like I do for every Buckeye player, but Troy Smith got a standing ovation when he was announced.

I know we have a QB "controversy" brewing due to Troy Smith' suspension, but Buckeye fans do not need to take sides of each QB and make one feel not as welcomed as the other. I want Troy Smith to be the starting QB, and he will be our starting QB, but I never once thought of booing Zwick for some bad passes in a scrimmage in April.

Only booing that I got a kick out of, was the first punt of the game that they angled it so Ted Ginn couldn't return it, and I just thought fans were having some fun with the booing then.
