It is Christmas time all - what better time of the year than now to give to a cause that really needs it. I just finished making out my last check and I'll tell you, it feels great. I am quite ashamed to admit it, but last year for the first time in a while I didn't give that much at all. I got so wrapped up in work and my own things I just didnt do it, and I felt like crap when I realized it.

I am not telling anyone who to give to or how much, but I think the vast majority of us can at least do something to help out a cause that we believe in. Not only is it Christmas, but financially its the best time of the year to give too - get that 2005 tax write off! If you have stock w a large gain, you can donate that and stick it to the gov't twice! If your firm matches, you can ultimately give that much more.

So, I guess what Im trying to say is try to help if you can. I really do believe it comes back to you. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays all!

Well said, NYB.

or... if your wallet is tight (like mine this year) you can go out and volunteer your time to a good cause. My wife and I (more her than me due to work) are helping out with various activities through our church.

WHAT!!!:yow1: :wink2:

We give throughout the year and this year more so than ever with the natural disasters from the tsunami to the hurricanes.

Great comment about donating services. Most places prefer the cash because you can do exactly what you need with that, but service is always in demand and provides a sense of accomplishment because of the direct involvement. Just do not forget these places need the help throughout the entire year.
