Time Warner Adding ABC & FOX HD

My buddy is dropping TW and having WOW installed tomorrow.

TW promised a free Sports Pack for a 2 month trial and never got it.

Promised him a free DVR for a 2 month trial and after talking to 5 different depts. found out that wasn't going to happen either so he dropped them like a dead hooker.

I have heard that if you call up TW and threaten them a little they will either start offering up free services or find some "special" that can they can get you on to lower your bill each month. I am on the verge of resorting to said tactics.

I got their whole HD package free for 3 months when I bitched about them not having ESPNU. It works

That's why they offered my buddy to begin with.

Never came through so he said, "Fuck'em."

I've heard WOW's customer service is top notch BTW.

I made the switch as well, about a month ago. So far, I am pleased. I have not noticed any decrease in internet speed, I also have their Cable Phone and it works fine (though, I must confess, I have never tried to get my voicemail, so I can't say I know how that works.) You can add HD channels ala carte, which I think is a nice feature. I can get ESPNHD, without having to pay for other stuff. TW has a better "free HD" package, though.

I got DVR also, and I pay 20 bucks less a month than I was at TW. Far as I'm concerned I'm getting more for less.

Oh, and with the internet, you can choose from various packages re: speed. I'm at 5Mbps,which is on par with what I had at TW (I think they were at 4 or 3Mbps, though Im not sure of that, and I think they now offer up to 7Mbps)

Yes, my buddy had Roderunner lite through TW and said the WOW internet is faster.
Roadrunner Lite is slower than normal Roadrunner too. That's why they call it lite. It's half the speed at approximately half the cost.

I would love to be able to add channels ala carte though. Too bad Dayton sucks.

It also seems to me that WOW is better for the sports fan. I get 4 different Foxsports channels... east, central, west and south. You do - and this is the same as TW - have to subscribe to the digital package for HD (and the sports extras) NFLnetwork comes with it too!
