Tim Beck (HC Coastal Carolina)

Greetings,

Husker fan here and I came here just out of interest in your fan base's opinion of Tim Beck. It's stark in its similarly to the Beck Era at NU.

To give you some insight into his promotion, it came much like the myriad of others under Bo. Following the 2010 Season, he was promoted from within to shock of the base. This became a trend for us of internal promotions and no name hires through out the years, but I digress.

Becks installed a pseudo-spread option offense with random elements of more traditional power I-formation, but with speed in play calling like Oregon. We never had an identity and the play calling was that of a bipolar melomanaic. When something worked, he would magically never call it again. He always rambled on for years about multiplicity in the scheme and he either believed this to a fault, resulting in wanting to always run something else to keep the defense guessing or he is just completely inept.

His last year was the most telling. Coming out of Spring, the narrative was a reduced playbook so the team would finally be good at something. This resulted in more confusion, between a more traditional FB in the I, but still falling back to shotgun when things got bad.

Current state of things, the base is still divided over the firing of Bo. I won't get into that, but I bring it up to simply point out even those sore over the firing wouldn't call for a return of Beck. It was a unverisal WTF when he landed at OSU. With that, I wish you well and screw Iowa.

I'm not sure man I was at the 2011 MSU game. Was the only game I've ever considered leaving early.
That team with a true freshman Braxton and Bauserman running the show with a offensive line that didn't have a 10th of the talent our current one does to then further compound things we also didn't have a WR worth a damn due to Posey being suspended yet we still managed 180 yards in 2011.

The most dynamic offense in the nation by a land slide returned yet we managed 130 yards against a defense that IMO wasn't as good as the one we faced in 2011.

Much superior offense and facing off against by all accounts a worse defense than that game yet we couldn't produce. That's on the coaches.

I have slept on it...I am in a much more calm place and I can rationally speak from a place or zen...

this fucker should still not be allowed to get on the bus/plane to Ann Arbor.
Anyone remember the part from Kill Bill Vol. 1 where O-Ren says "I collect your fuckin' head" in a monotone voice with a blank stare after decapitating that mob boss?

That's totally how I'm reading this post for some reason.

Bottom line is something has to change. Our QB play has regressed over the season. We have had receivers open but getting the ball to them has been a problem. The play calling has been mind boggling. It's beyond frustrating, it's infuriating at times. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for many of the plays that are called. This is Urbans Offense. He needs to get it fixed because it's not working right now.
