I'm hoping for a domino effect w/FCS coaches so he can catch on somewhere else like Withers (whose doing well for himself fwiw). Urban seems hesitant to actually fire anyone, especially after 1 season.
Only worry is if these schools start hiring coordinators... could be difficult to poach a quality OC in that environment?

Every time he dropped back he got hit, so yes... we would. The OLine got dominated in all phases of the game. Even special teams, allowing MSU to repeatedly pressure Johnston.

16 throws an ENTIRE game with 2 over 10 yards is ridiculous. Where were the quick slants, the TE down the middle, the RB screens?

That's my one concern as well. If Urban is willing, he can call the offense, what's really important right now is a really solid QB coach. We've got some talent on campus and in the recruiting pipeline, and their development is crucial.

I'll refrain from piling on about the play calling, but it's mind boggling just how much both QBs regressed this year. Mechanics, reading coverages, the basics

Playcalling is an issue and wouldnt mind beck taking a hc position at some fcs or dii location, but when you have Zeke and JT and theres nowhere to run and no time to throw ... good teams will shut you down and your d will eventually falter.

Withers had interim HC experience from North Carolina. Tim Beck ain't gonna get a James Madison-type offer. If they end up wanting him gone they'll have to fire him.

Sometimes I wonder if people even watched the game.
MSU attempted the same number of passes... it doesn't help that our receivers couldn't hang onto it.
