Fourteen-time major champion Tiger Woods is set to make a "special announcement" Monday on the Golf Channel, but details on what he will be addressing are a mystery.

The announcement will take place Monday at 11 a.m. ET, when he will sit down with the Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman.

Anyone know what will Tiger's big announcement be about?

My money is on taking the rest of the year off...but it could also be about that canadian doctor.

agree with Merih, but i'm leaning towards getting out in front of the doctor thing and maybe admitting that he used HGH or something to recover from injuries.

The fact that its on the golf channel leads me to believe its not a huge controversial thing...could be though you never know with El Tigre.

Tiger Has fired Steve Williams

http://www.cbssports.com/#!/golf/story/15337621/woods-ends-partnership-with-caddie-williams

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tiger Woods fired caddie Steve Williams on Wednesday, ending a 12-year relationship in which he won 72 times worldwide and 13 majors.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change," Woods said on his website. "Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future."

Woods did not say who would replace Williams, or when he would return to golf.

Williams, who previously worked for Raymond Floyd and Greg Norman, had worked the last three tournaments with Adam Scott. That included the last two majors, which Woods skipped while trying to recover from injuries to his left leg.

When asked over the weekend at the British Open if he was still working for Woods, Williams grinned and said, "Why would you ask a question like that?" He never answered the question but gave no indication that he would not caddie for Woods when he did return.

Williams could not immediately be reached Wednesday afternoon, although he posted a statement on his website confirming he had been fired.

"Needless to say this came as a shock," Williams said. "Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries, I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time."

Should be interesting to see how he plays after such a long layoff and using a new caddie

ORLANDO, Fla. -- As ever, Tiger Woods is keeping ?em guessing.

Despite the fact that he hasn?t worked with his swing coach in two months, Woods said Thursday night that he will play next week at the Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club, where he has seven wins.

I can't stand the way Tiger conducts interviews. All he does is deflect and make excuses. I could not care less about his personal life and to be honest, if I were him, I wouldn't answer questions about my personal life either. However, he doesn't even give straight up answers about his tournament play or practice habits anymore.

His play has been pitiful in the last two tournaments. Why? According to Tiger, because he is "compressing the ball" more than ever and hasn't adapted to all of "the extra distance" that he is getting. WTF ever Tiger.

Brandel Chamblee, the analyst on the Golf Channel, has Tiger pegged. "Tiger said that when he was with Hank Haney he was dumping it at the top and cutting across the ball. Well, now he is dumping the ball into the bunkers and into the water."

It will be a sad, sad day if Tiger ever beats Jack's majors record.
