A friend of mine and I were wanting to do a ticket swap for these two games. We like to attend a major sporting event each year and after meeting several O-H I-O fans in New Orleans during the Sugar Bowl we were wanting to take the trip up to Columbus. Our plan is to attend the LSU/Arkansas game in Fayetteville on 11/23 and then fly to Columbus that evening to attend the Mich/OSU game on 11/24. I know it is early but, now is the time to start planning as football is just around the corner. Hopefully, these games will have conference/national championship implications. We would invite you to tailgate with us and just enjoy the atmosphere of college football in a different venue. If you are interested, please reply to this post and we can work through the details. Thanks for your interest....and good luck in 2012!

Good point...however, with Michigan in the BCS discussion, I'm sure the next best thing to hope for (if not a National Championship) is to ensure that Robinson and Co. are not in consideration for one, either. I'm thinking you guys will be up for this one...

Overall, I think John L. is a good fit based on the timing of the situation and he is the best option for the upperclassmen. I know most Hog fans were expecting a "big name" hire but, that is not reasonable based on timing. We were in the process of finishing up spring practice so it is not realistic to bring in a new coach and hire a new staff. During his career, John L. has coached on the same staff with everyone but Taver Johnson, if I remember correctly (maybe it is Haynes), so the staff knows each other. And, although, John L. is looking to redeem his name as a head coach, in the twilight of his career, I do not think he is trying to "prove" himself. What he does this year will be his legacy. I also think we have a very talented staff but, it did not make much sense to put any of them in the head coaching role. We just needed a bit of experience and John L. brings that to the table. I think he may even be able to get a little bit more out of his players because his personality is a complete 180 from Petrino's style. They actually LIKE him. Plus, this is who the players wanted. When it comes down to it, the university did the right thing firing Petrino and keeping the staff intact (albeit for only 10 months) so the upperclassmen had a chance to finish what they started. I compare the majority of our fan base to that dumb girl that keeps wanting the guy back that cheated on her, treats her like an A-hole and embarrasses her family because she "loves" him. That's how it is with Petrino and that is the reason that there are mixed emotions with John L....we all want Petrino back just like that dumb girl wants her ex back. ha! I will let you know how I really feel about it in December...
