Thursday Trivia Game (2007): ScriptOhio won

Avery Brundage was the a**hole that became president of the AAU and resisted the re-instatement of Thorpe's medals, partly because Thorpe beat him in the 1912 Olympics.
He was also very pro-nazi during the war.

He was not ever a general, however. (thank God!)

Patton participated in the military pentathlon during the 1912 Olympics - not the pentathalon. He did however finish fifth in that.

Brundage finished sixth in the regular pentathlon.

The Patton question is marred by there being Pentathalon (won by Thorpe) and "Modern Pentathalon" which was not won by Thorpe, but in which Patton placed 5th.

Pentathalon
Modern Pentathalon

Good clarification, BKB. The question, as asked, was OK (since Menaul never became a general). Only in the answer did I make the erroneous assumption that they were in the same event.

Yeah, not familiar with him, just did a google search on 1912 pentathlon and 5th place and he came up. He sounds like a real scum bag, so I am glad he lost to two great Americans like Thorpe and Patton.

Since it began in 1998, list all of the teams that have been ranked #1 in at least 10 different weeks of BCS Rankings.

You must have all of the correct teams, and no incorrect ones. For the time being, I'm not saying how many teams are in the correct answer.
