I had that last one five minutes earlier than when I psoted it. But then I convinced myself that you were looking for Florida State's first opponents all-time leading rusher (Darren Lewis of aTm) rather than Tennessee's first opponent's all-time leading rusher.

I was searching for Vandy's leading NFL rusher (not an easy task) - I though 'Bama was the first BCS champ, in '92. I'm better at guessing what's on Bill's desk. :p

Sorry, but the BCS site is wrong.
Virginia Tech was a Big East member when they lost the NC game to FSU after the 1999 season.
There is an error on the BCS's own website, if that was anybody's source of information. I've sent them an e-mail, explaining that the ACC is 1-7 and Independents are 0-2, rather than 1-8 and 0-1, respectively.
That's why I asked this trick question.
