Thread Split Request

I don't have a lot of threads split. But, it's nice when a mod will PM you to let you know it's happened. I really appreciate that.

So. I have 2 requests.

1. If a thread gets split, it would be great if the mod who split it sends a small PM saying so.
2. If a thread gets re-named, the owner, (if it can be determined) of the split thread, can re-name it.
(Rather than, say "Commie Holds Court) :tongue2:

Why do you need a PM to let you know a thread has been split? Was "(split from politician for a day thread)" insufficient evidence of what happened?

Are you sure you can't change the title? Have you clicked 'edit' and then 'go advanced'? Perhaps we must also consider the power to choose the thread title as an incentive to abide by the custom of starting a new thread when you want to talk about a completely different topic.
