This Year's Wine and Cheese Award Nominations

cincibuck

You kids stay off my lawn!
Wow, we could have a real run down to the wire with this one:

1. Brady Quinn, Watching him on the sidelines during the Michigan game and the first half of the MSU game was a treat. He puffed and pouted at all Star level while watching "his" Heisman being taken away. I hadn't witnessed such bad acting since the days of Ron Paulus.

2. Anthony Morelli is right up there. His pout at the end of the Wisconsin game just might have set a freshman record. Just wait till daddy gets a hold of that offensive co-ordinator...

3. Drew Tate's volatile antics have been consistently remarkable, although this weekend's helmet toss by Houshmenzadah establiushed a new threshold for the event.. but then TJ is a pro and Drew is still in college.

The floor is open for additional nominations.

Donna Shalala for stating when asked about here decision making in the initial round of suspensions following the "Be a Thug not a Playa" fight with FIU, almost consecutively, that
"I never watched the film of the fight, I was at the game" - followed by
"we carefully reviewed the film of the incident before issuing the suspensions"

and then ending up issuing lighter punishment than the lighter weight opponent dished out for the worst piece of gang behavior to make its way onto a college football field, ever.

Have a Wine and Cheese Award Donna!

Well yeah, but I was looking for other players. Maybe we could do an All Asshole lineup... right now QB and coach are looking superb.

Didn't know you were looking for just players.

Also saw someone else mention John L. Smith so I thought non-players were fair game.

Complainers who cite how Rule 3-2-5e has jobbed viewers from seeing quality finishes and how the new clock prevents teams from making miraculous comebacks ... as if the first 58 minutes of the football game weren't enough time already to determine which was the better team.

Clock rule complaining had gone far overboard before a single game had even been played and anyone realized how the new rules would effect the game. That spawned a whole bunch of Week One and Week Two "I told ya so's," though in the grand scheme I don't think it has really made a lick of difference outside of the fact that a 3:30 kick off is virtually never preempted by the finish of a 12:00 game.

I nominate *insert name here* as a moderator of the fansite for the "whine & cheese" team.

I've got a couple people in mind, but I'm trying to be nicer these days. :tongue2:
