Things you miss most about college

Someone, somewhere, always willing and able to hang out and do something, 24-7
Sleeping whenever I felt like it
Walking around the Oval and Mirror Lake in the middle of the night
Student Safety Service bike patrols (i.e. getting paid to ride around campus in the middle of the night)
Drinking at Larry's from age 18 on
Wandering around off-campus with a giant plastic cup, crashing random keg parties
80's Night and Disco Night at Mustard's, and later Maxwell's
Seeing local bands at Bernie's
Stealing 187 Snickers ice cream bars from Kennedy Commons
Stealing chairs from Kennedy Commons
Having new things to do/a new schedule every few months

2. blowing a .35 and telling the EMS guy that I just want my Taco Bell
3. my fraternity's recycling club (recycling the same sloots throughout the house)
4. no class tuesday and thursday, and class at noon on Friday
5. indoor water fights
6. ice luge parties (there wasn't a single time I didn't go to Blackout City, definitely got out of hand, nekkidness)
7. $1 32oz drafts of either bud or bud light
8. Dine and Dash at Country Kitchen at 3:30 in the morning on multiple occasions
9. Having my parents fund my alcohol problem

and probably the thing I miss most about college is...

10. Having my roomate barge into my room at 7 in the morning on the various holidays throughout the school year, announcing what holiday it was, run back into his room, throw on the holiday mix cd, press repeat, crank the volume so the whole house could hear, lock his door and not come back until late at night. He also did that when various people passed away, i.e. John Ritter, Three's Company tune was on repeat all day. What an asshole...

Hours and hours of hearts and spades
fellowship
liking cheap beer

Being drunk and stoned and nobody noticing

waking up with coney dog breath and not remembering going there
drunk fights where nobody got hurt
a drunk Elton Con hammering on the piano in Stradley

girls coming over to clean your apt so you could throw a party
not minding a diet of mac and cheese and/or hamburger helper without the hamburger.

Undergrad was at Kent
* Fridge and six couches in our living room.
* Fridge was empty except for a keg of beer.
* Being able to walk to the bars from our house.
* Holding the biggest party of the semester at our house. Fortunately, we stashed one of the kegs in our living room to avoid the crowds.
* Spent a semester studying in DC. Not much studying, lots of partying and pulled a 4.0.
* Not too far from getting out in nature. I just never had that feel in Columbus.
* Being able to hear the stereo in my dorm room while I was in class. My professor use to bitch constantly about it. Glad he never found out it was mine.
* Venice Cafe - Best bar in Kent to just hang out, drink some beer and talk. It was never a scene, just an existence.
* This hot chick who was friends with one of my roommates who used to end in my bed after a night at the bars. I never complained once!
* Worked a summer at Cedar Point. Like college, but no studying and lots of girls from every campus in the midwest, except OSU.
* My motorcycle.
* Ski trip to Steamboat Springs.
* Girls in sweaters on those first cold days and shorts on those first warm ones.

Grad School at OSU
* Girls in sweaters on those first cold days and shorts on those first warm ones.
* Meeting students from all over the US. Never had that at Kent.
* Being taught by professors who were some of the best in their fields.
* Grabbing a few pitchers of beer on Thursday afternoons after class was done for the day and sending friends to their night classes drunk.
* Short North and Brewery District. Trying to convince myself I was an adult and not some stupid college kid.
* Always something to do any time of the day.
* Dating more than just college girls (You know, I was convincing myself I was an adult and starting chasing real women).
* Met my wife right before graduation. Perfect timing since I was just getting things out of my system.

Being outdoors around campus
Knowing everyone in the dorm and always having people to hang out with
Getting to know guys before deciding who's worth dating
Taking a class just because it looked interesting
Trips to Richmond to go dancing
Trips to Virginia Beach to do nothing but soak up sun
Having my sister on campus pretending she didn't know me until I got her into one of the primo dorms as an underclassman :biggrin:
Wild drunken sex orgies... not really, but I was even starting to bore myself there
