The worst article I ever read

That's called "Buying the Hype"

Anyway... dude was clearly having a "Howard Dean Moment" and as much as doesn't want to beleive it... FSU, Miami, USC and whoever he's jealous of... aren't going anywhere...

Anyway... the Meyer hire looks great on paper...so they are getting a nice recruting bump... we'll have to see how it works out in the real world.... Oh... and uh... do they have a defense at UF? I don't remember.

Boy! What a big B.S. story! I am of the belief, if you have to knock the other people down to make yourself look good, YOU AIN'T NOTHING! For the most part, young smart recruits will see this in the story. Urban Meyers can plaster on as many layers of B.S. as he wants. When you get past the fluff, U.F. is still the same ole same ole......

For the School Out West and the School Down South, not to mention the other corporate raiders who annually trek to Florida to gloss up their recruiting classes with the fastest and most talented players in the nation, this is not good news. And, the news isn't going to get any better for any school not named the University of Florida. Get used to the fact that Florida is going to muscle its way to the top of the recruiting ladder with a sales pitch that is squeaky clean, vibrant and exciting.

So, although your state cranks out hundreds of D-I level players each, no one but UF is allowed to recruit them. News flash, asswipe, you took a RB from Cincinnati from us and you don't hear us whining. As for a "squeaky clean sales pitch", do you mean that Meyer is going to visit recruits' homes with a gag in his mouth to keep from uttering the f-bomb every other word?

"The fastest and most talent players in the nation?" Ever heard of Ted Ginn, Jr.? A.J. Hawk running a 4.47 forty? I love the myth of "Florida speed". It's pretty easy to look fast on a dry field in 80 degree weather. Put those Sunshine boys in the 'Shoe in November and they won't look so fleet-footed.

Is that really the best "journalism" the scout.com networks can come up with?
By Franz Beard GatorCountry.com Managing Editor

"They are the best on the athletic fields and they are tops in their classrooms."
"Meyer is selling kids on the chance to come to Florida where they can be the one percent of one percent. He's selling kids on the chance to be part of a university where the academics and athletics are constantly achieving at the highest levels. "

One of the reasons Urban Meyer didn't go to ND, his favorite job, because the admission standards were high.

I did like one thing about that 'article.' I hadn't seen Tennecheat referred to as 'Dollywood' before - I rather like that moniker.

They don't need a defense, he said so himself. His assumption is that the offense will score so much, the defense won't matter, kind of like the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.

What a hack !

I'm sure he'll dummy up quick after losing to scUMS and FSU this season.

This is minor compared to the gah gah the national media gave Ty when he went to Notre Dame. Meyer hasn't even played a game yet, and they are ready to give him Boob Stoops status. Just win baby, or you can take your $2 million contract back to Salt Lake City.

I like the idea of Florida having a comeback and getting a little attention because I just like an underdog but jesus hes talking like they are a dynasty without having ever played a game. It really is nothing to worry about, USC has dominated California which produces more players and they arent anywhere near the team he is trying to describe.

Don't freak out too much... he's the Managing Editor of that site... so he's a homer (and is supposed to be to a degree)... Also... seems like a big fan... and probably a Zook hater... so...you know... he's had to deal with similar thing to us when Charles Woodsons happy Ohio Ass used to mess us up with Cooper at the helm... anyway... he jsut took it way out of the bounds of reality... I guess they don't know what "Gaurded Optimism" means in Gatorland.
