Do not sleep on Abu Dhabi, they are wealthier, more stable financially, and are on the come up as far as development, as they are sick of Dubai getting all the press. They do not have to move as fast so they should be able to do better planning and what not. I will like to see how it works out being that they are 90 miles or so away.

This being said I know a buckeye graduate who has 1 of the spots in "The World". I do not actually think it is in his name or anything, but I do know either he or someone in his family has one reserved. I will have to email him, as I havent spoken to him in a while and he does not reside in America. He had pictures from the Burj Al Arab on his computer he showed me, and said it is actually somewhat reasonable (I think it was like 700 a night, yea reasonable) if you went in the summer, but what is it 120 degrees in the summer?

what they are doing is very intelligent imo. sure they are stupid rich with oil money. but those wells aren't forever. once they run dry, it becomes uneconomical, an alternative fuel source is found... what do they have? sand? they have decided to go the way of toursim. they certainly have the climate for it. problem is 2 fold. they aren't the first place that comes to mind when you think vacation and they really don't have a lot of space for tourism to flourish. it takes spectacle and time to get your name out as a premier vacation spot. which they are doing. it also requires beach space. of which they have little, for now... 15 years from now dubai might be the hottest vacation spot in the world.
