No disrespect to a great tradition at ND but...

Why not see how well ND does this year before you even talk about ND's schedule and/or even getting to a bowl game. Didn't ND go 5-7 last year? You sure try to stir up alot of stuff, but then again I guess your going on "reputation alone" huh ??

I must agree that the Gators got totally jobbed...the ref looked right at the Tennessee player take a swing at the Florida player, then called the penalty when the Florida player defended himself. It was as obvious a homer job as I've seen. Not to worry...America's favorite chickenshit fatfuck coach will choke down the stretch again...just like Texas will.
The refs also robbed Florida out of 25 seconds. Even though it was a personal foul, if the pervious play was a run the clock restarts. Without those 25 seconds Tennessee would have had to drive 30 yards in like 25 seconds W/O a time out.

If ND played a candy -ass schedule it would be one thing but just because ND is not in a conference DOES NOT mean that they can't/ or should not have a chance to win a NC! If they play a competive schedule and have enough wins to qualify and are ranked high enough then they deserve the shot.

What the hell does a conference have to do with being a good football team?

Speaking of comprehension classes...answer me a simple question.

Is there a rule written specifically for ND in the BCS agreement that essentially guarantees them an at large bith if they win 9 games regardless of their actual BCS standing(other teams have to be in the top 6 to qualify for an at large)?

(the answer is yes) and therefore my comment about "no special ND rule".

My hypothetical playoff system calls for all the BCS players to be in 5 conferences and have a champ. game in each, thus it stands to reason ND need be in a conference.

The only outrageous leap of logic I have made is including a team thats lost 10 of its last 17 games in any discussion of NC's.

I put the domers in the B10 so they have to earn a trip just like everyone else. None of this "ND rules" bullshit.

Also this puts all the major NC players into 5 conferences, make the B10 do a champ game and everyones is on an even playing field. You cant pick a reg season winner from a 12 team conf because not everyone plays each other.

I kept the number at 8 so no one plays more than 15 games. Also it puts way more emphasis on winning your conference. I could live with 16 if they cut down on OOC play. 15 games is the max anyone should play.

I agree being against the current deal that ND has, but you don't need to put ND in the Big Ten...just make them earn an at-large bid just like all the others who aren't a conference champion. Hey, if 9-2 doesn't get them into the top 16, great.

The Big Ten doesn't need a championship game to be "on an even playing field" with other conferences. It shouldn't matter how the conferences decide their champion, just as long as they do. And the only way that everyone plays everyone else in the Big Ten is to have a 10-game regular season...ain't never gonna happen. The Big Ten's system is not broke and definitely doesn't need fixin'. Besides, the other conferences aren't holding title games for integrity's sake or for the goodness of the game, but rather for the almighty dollar. There's no way that Kansas State should've been their conference champ with two conference losses while Oklahoma had one, regardless of how bad KSU pounded them.

Lastly, most teams are on a 11-game schedule now, so with a 16-team format the most anyone would play is 15 games anyways, and that would only be the two teams making it to the title game, so a 16-team format hurts no one.

Hey ND didnt give themselves that special rule! If you want to moan about it blame the people who approved it not ND. Every D-1 should have a way in if they deserve it...

And ND should join a conf. just to because of your playoff system?? PLEASE!

As far as your line about 10 of 17 heck if a team that won 0 games the last 10 years deserved to get in this year! Well they deserve it.

.

Actually the Domers lobbied for it and made it a condition of joining so yeah, we can blame ND for it. Nice try though.

Too Funny ... hahaha

Case and point "stirring things up" (ie: Insulting peoples compreehension or calling people a$$es or questioning very proud OSU fans' team .. hmmm I wonder can you comprehend what I am saying now ?? hahaha TEASING. now can you take a joke ?? haha). Have something constructive to discuss before you talk please, because your simple tactics are less than the class I'd expect from a ND fan. I did state ND has a great tradition. I also think Purdue has a great thing going and Tiller is an amazing coach, BUT beating Syracuse and Ball state does not prove anything YET. Fact of the matter is ND has proven nothing YET (walla just as you stated before) either. Again, I admire the tradition at ND but not a 5-7 record of last year and only one good win this year (ie:Michigan... which was a good one) does not prove anything. WOW I am agreeing with your "ifs" but yet you still question my comprehension...hmm makes ya wonder.
When your team goes 28-2 over the next 2+ years, I'll be on your bandwagon too ... deal ?? Too funny

I really think that Texas will win the Big 12 this year. Just remember that they are playing with that 2002 #1 recruiting class, so they have the talent. They have to win eventually!

As long as Mack Brown is there Texas will never win a NC let alone play for one. A friend of mine is a huge UT fan and even he believes that. Whatever hope/respect people had for him was lost when he pulled Applewhite for Simms a few years ago. No matter how much talent he has the guy just can't make the right coaching decisions it takes to make it to that level.

Here is a question. If we go to a 12 team conference in the Big 10...are Michigan and Ohio State in the same division? If not would THE GAME be played twice in a row a lot of the time? What would be the point of the first game if they are just going to play again. Playoffs could have the same effect. I like how in college football...every game is a playoff game. Usually if you lose, you are out. I think that's what makes it special. Why does it have to be like everyone else and need playoffs? It's great in it's own way.
