The Old "Bait and Switch"

Better than the letter I got Yesterday saying that they could not give Me the Illinois game that I was assigned, and they tried to move me to one of the lower games but of course those were all gone to....So I don't get any alumni tickets this year....hey but the good news is that a refund check is in the mail and will be here in 2 to 3 weeks.

Dear JC,

The Ohio State Alumni Club is pleased to announce that you have the chance to buy 2 tickets to the Buckeyes' home game vs Wisconsin, on November 3, 2007. The cost is $65.00 per ticket (with a $5.00 service fee). Parking will be $10.00. A bottle of water will be $4.00. Scratching you ass will still be free.

Hope to see you at the Wisconsin game! Go Bucks!

Dear JC,

Enclosed please find your two tickets to the Youngstown State game. Yes, it is a shitty game and yes, you were promised Wisconsin, but take it or leave it. The cost is still $65.00 per ticket ($5.00 service fee). Water is still $4.00/bottle. Scratching your ass is now $2.00 per cheek.

Hope to see you at the Wisco...er...Youngstown State game! Go Bucks!

i don't know why you guys get all upset, considering the demand for tickets. you should be grateful you get to go at all. they could expand the 'Shoe to 500,000 seats and it would still sell out.

This is a message board, dammit! I have the right to complain. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you would keep your complaints about my complaining to yourself!

:tongue2:

P.S.

Same thing happened to me last year...twice. "Congrats! You have the opportunity to purchase game X...oh, wait...that game is starting to become too popular...we'll give you game y...(what? oh I see)...sorry, that has become an in demand game also...so here's all we had left...Congrats!, You're at the bottom of the ticket chain!" :(

I am also a second year victim of this non-sense. Last year I got a shitty game, and then was told the demand was too high and ended up with nothing. This year I was pleasently suprised to get the chance to buy Wisconsin tickets, I did, and yesterday YSU tickets showed up! I guess I should be happy I got tickets at all?!?:roll2:

I don't think so.

They offered me Wisconsin tix. For $65.00 per. After having my money for 3 months, they send me YSU. The Classic bait and switch.

"Yes, JC, we understand you paid for a 42-inch plasma TV, but demand was too high and we sold out. Therefore, you can have this 10-inch CRT (unfortunately for you, at the same price)"

I'm not pissed about having YSU. I just am pissed about being told Wisconsin and then getting YSU. If I was getting YSU, fucking tell me up front.

Did they forget to put the statement about demand exceeding supply, etc. on your ticket application? :)

If it makes you feel any better, I'll be getting paid to go to the Wisconsin game this year. The seats are ok. "B" Deck, out the rain, but too far from the field.

The Department of Athletics thanks you for your support. Your $65.00 will look good in my wallet after a day of tailgating for money.

<<<<< Shut out as well. I was supposed to get tix for the Illinois game but nada. The room is already booked at the Holiday Inn, so I guess I'll be buying from a scalper or try my luck with public sale tix. Consider yourself lucky you got tix to another game. Hineygate for YSU could be a very good time considering the warm weather......if ya know what I mean??

Yeah, I was shut out of MSU. Was going to give my tix to my dad, anyways, since I'm in Alabama. Luckily I get to march with the alumni band, so I got YSU already (it would've sucked a LOT if I had gotten 2 more YSU tix, since I already have extras for my parents for that one through the alumni band).
