The Little Things:
This is kind of a self reflection thread. There are little things in life that we ignore and often take for granted. We've all taken things for granted. I don't care you who are..no one can say they haven't taken things for granted. It's a part of life. No one as hard as they try can avoid this. Maybe you've had a bad day and yell at someone or blow off doing something because your pissed..that's taking the good things in your life for granted. Another example would be when your excited about something. Maybe you blow off spending time with your family to go watch a movie you've been dieing to see. In my opinion that's taking them for granted big time. You may have the best of intentions or mean to do no harm but it's still taking the good things in life for granted. Now what I would like to know is when have you taken things in your life for granted and then was sorry about it later? What are some of the little things you have learned to appreciate in life? Do you look to improve the way your living and take less things for granted? Now this is a serious thread and I'd like some really good discussion. Let's hear it!

I think the biggest thing that I take for granted is my 2 year old son. I work a ton of hours and all he wants to do is play with me when I get home, but I'm often too tired to enjoy his energy. So, he winds up going to bed early so I can relax. That is very selfish on my part, but also very hard to rectify. You have to weigh quality time versus quantity of time I spend with him, and there are bills that need paid. I remember a quote I heard somewhere that goes like "never send a young boy to bed early because he will only wake up a day older". So I feel I am robbing my boy somewhat of his daddy time by working so much. That would be something I need to work on. Thanks for the reason to reflect.

My Penis.

You said Little things right?

and I do have a tendency to take him for granted. I mean some nights I come home from work after a long day, and for no reason I beat the crap out of him. Thing is I never tell him I am sorry, or buy him anything. Instead I usually beat the crap out of him again a couple days later.

I'm sorry Penis.

I really enjoy the message boards. I have met (virtual, of coarse),some really interesting people on these boards. I know that I catch junk some of the time, but that is O.K. If I can laugh or bring a laugh to someone, it is good.

I have I ever felt like I was taken for granted? Sure, but I don't harp on it. I move on. I try to enjoy life and enjoy people. Even those on this site that don't like me, I still will try to befriend.

My grandparents. As a young'un, I wasn't into spending much time with them - thought it was boring. As I got older I became more and more interested in their memories and life experiences. Now, they're not here to talk to or visit with any more. I wish I'd spent more time with them.
