If your insurance is up to date, LoKy and I will be bringing our boys soon.Well, they showed up six hours early. Thankfully, I had the day off today and had just returned home after running some errands. They were a bit offended that their grandkids were not here waiting for them. The kids go to daycare on Fridays and there was no reason to pull them out since the in-laws were not supposed to be here before 8.
They proceeded to grill me on when I was moving closer (I kind of like a 500 mile buffer zone). They told me about their ailments and how hot it is here (They live down south and it is 95 here today, so you think they would be used to it). I picked up the boys and brought them home from daycare. They played with their grandparents for a couple of hours. The in-laws left before dinner because they had to go find a nice showerhead and some cereal they do not sell around them. Seriously!
The worst part is my wife, their daughter, is still at work. I think I will tell her I threw them out of the house and they are already on their way home. NJBuck - I might need that flight still in case the wife does not find the humor in it.

Saturday. 25-6-05, approximately 2230 hours.
The in-laws have left the house, but not the city. As my wife just said, another weird visit. They called last night from their hotel and invited my wife over. She was figuring she was going to get an earful of guilt and crap, which is typical. She did not get home until about midnight (I was starting to think they drugged her, threw her in the back of the car and headed south toward home). They basically updated her on everything back home for 3+ hours.
They came over this morning, grabbed the two boys and took them to the toy store at the local mall. As usual, the boys were angels for strangers, which their granparents basically are since they see them once a year. They brought them back to the house, the boys took naps and my in-laws ran some errands. They came back over for dinner and they could not sit still any longer. My father-in-law did some work on the exterior of the house and my mother-in-law did some of our laundry!!!
Overall, it was probably one of the better visits as they did not throw a bunch of shit and guilt my wife's way. However, they did tell us to move closer as they were heading out the door.
Had they met him they would never come back. Damn, I should have invited him over.

I must be the most fortunate man in the world. I get to see my in-laws again this weekend. We have to go and visit my wife's sick grandmother and will spend a day with my in-laws. yeah
Get this, my wife tells me last night that my mother-in-law was trying to set her up while we were engaged!!! Oh yeah, it gets better. She was trying to set her up with a convicted felon!!!

My friend thinks I should ask my mother-in-law how the felon she wanted to set my wife up with is doing. If she pisses me off I just might.
I usually see them once a year and now it is twice in two months.
We are heading to WV, yeah my wife is from there and she does wear shoes, most of the time, to see her grandmother who is not doing well.
I really do not mind the trip, except I have to stay at my in-laws house one night. Their idea of fun is telling me the same stories they tell every time I am there. And Lord help you if you would like to do something else, like turn on the TV. You are supposed to just sit in the living room and listen to their stories. Maybe I will just tell their stories this time.

my mother in law is pretty nice, can be overbearing once in a while...
my father in law is a whole different story, i could rant on and on for hours about how much i dread the times that i know i'm going to spend with him...
