Don't camp at a state park if you're looking for privacy -- esp. this time of year. Strap on a backpack and hike for a few miles and pitch your tent away from people. If it's a clear night, the view of the sky will be absolutely worth it.

I love camping, but haven't been in what seems like forever. I am going to have to try to convince the gf to go sometime soon

I give up. This board is too hard to understand.
The only way my wife will camp is if we go to a OSU football game after about 4 hours and then camp again after the game is over... we call it tailgating :). I camped in the cub scouts... haven't been back since. I do enjoy fishing with my dad. We go out in the Gulf of Mexico and also fish inthe Bradenton River.
