Michigan Head Coach Lloyd Carr
On the game ... "We had some big third-down drops. We had a big play at the end of the half that if we could have completed a pass down inside the 35-yard line we would have had a chance to kick a field goal and make it 7-6, which really changes the game. Even if they get a touchdown in the third quarter, we're one score back. We just never really sustained anything."
On the health of Chad Henne ... "You could tell in warmups he was not throwing the ball like he was two weeks ago. Of course he had a problem last week. He said he felt good. We had a deep pass to Mario (Manningham) in the second half early where Mario had them beat, but the ball was a little underthrown because I just don't think he had enough on it. He tried. He took some punches out there. I don't think there's any question that he or Mike Hart were where they have been. That's all part of the game; credit Ohio State."
On characterizing the season ... "I think it's impossible to be totally accurate at this stage because this is really disappointing. We had an opportunity to really do something special here for us -- winning this game and everything that goes with it. When you fail to do that, the disappointment is very difficult. I won't even begin to answer your question. I wouldn't know how."
U-M Senior Running Back Mike Hart
On the offense ... "We didn't think we were going to be this bad off. We made a lot of mistakes out there. Give credit to the (Ohio State) defense. They came up with a great game and had a good scheme against us. The defense did a great job."
On explaining the game ... "When we watch the film everything is going to be right there. We made too many missed assignments, too many dropped balls, missed blocks, bad cuts. Whatever you want to call it, we just didn't put it together as an offense today. When you don't do that, you aren't going to win games."
On injuries ... "I was fine today. I was good enough to play and it definitely wasn't a problem. Chad (Henne) was out there throwing the ball fine so it's definitely not the reason why we lost today."
U-M Senior Linebacker Chris Graham
On the game ... "It's not the way you want to end things with that outcome. They played hard today and we played hard against them. We gave them our best shots. They had a good run and caught us with a different adjustment, but they played well. Hats off to them today. I can't hold my head down, because I did all that I could do."
On the Chris Wells touchdown run ... "Yeah, they had that one big play, but Coach (English) made some adjustments and we went in there and fought hard. This is a game you want to give your all to. They kept giving a couple pops here and there, and we did our best to adjust to it and stop the run to try to get a three-and-out."
U-M Senior Safety Jamar Adams
On the defense ... "We didn't play good enough. We gave up too many points; 14 was too much. We had to hold them to zero in this game and we didn't get the job done."
On the hype affecting the game ... "It had no effect on this game. We just focused on the game and were ready to go."
On playing in his last home game as a senior ... "You lose your last one for the championship in the Big House. It's a hard thing to deal with."
Ohio State Head Coach Jim Tressel
On the rushing game ... "Our defense was not going to let them control the game with the run, and we did a pretty good job of moving the chains a little bit. I wish we would've scored a little more, wish we would've been a little more consistent. We did what we needed to do, and 14 points was enough to win the Big Ten."
On winning four in a row against Michigan ... "Its special for our kids. I mean, we've had wonderful kids and they work so hard at it. This game means so much to them, and for them to be able to accomplish that is special for every kid that is a part of any one of those four. It means it must be very difficult to win five, because I don't know if anyone's ever done that."
On running back Chris Wells' performance ... "Beanie Wells is a difference maker -- he's physical, he's a fiery guy. You could tell in the locker room before the game that he wanted to put the team on his shoulders and go with it. He's the best. He's the best back in the Big Ten in my opinion and we vote tomorrow (for all-conference) all of you."
On defensive end Vernon Golhston ... "Vernon Golhston is a special guy and this is an important game for him coming back home here to play, and I'm sure (Chad) Henne will see him in his sleep. He's a great football player, and our whole defense put a lot of pressure and that's the difference in the game."
On winning the Big Ten championship on the road ... "You know, that's special to be able to win the outright Big Ten championship two years in a row, and three years in row being a part of it. We're the first ones to do that since Penn State joined the league so I'm pretty proud of those guys for, you know, being able to do that away from home after a tough loss a week ago, to show the character these kids have."
OSU Senior Defensive Lineman Vernon Gholston
On winning consecutive Big Ten championships ... "It's big. With a team like Michigan, winning four years in a row is big. Not too many teams have done it. Stuff like this doesn't happen too often."
OSU Junior Linebacker James Laurinaitis
On whether OSU smelled victory when Michigan couldn't get anything going offensively ... "The emotion was high on our bench, but we just kept saying 'calm down and play the next play' because the next play is the most important."
On what their approach was in terms of stopping Mike Hart ... "We just said let's get back to the basics and do our job. That's the thing we need to focus on: doing your job and not doing anything out of the ordinary."
On how much they thought Chad Henne was limited in throwing ... "I didn't really notice him being limited. We were all so focused on doing our jobs that you don't notice little things like that. We just had a lot of pressure on the quarterback."
On Vernon Gholston's performance ... "He's a great guy and player. He's obviously very talented, but it's his work ethic that's incredible. He hits the weight room after we've had a three-hour practice and spends hours in the tape room. That's the reason he's a tremendous player."

The Michigan fan who spit on my face. If that was you, you know who I am, because I was the one who took your ass down.
You can say anything you want to me. I had people get in my face and yell "FUCK YOU!", and I may think you're an immature asshole, but I can handle it. However, spitting on me will get your ass kicked, and by the look on your face, you didn't think I would do anything about it.

A big loss

After watching the Michigan football team lose, yet again, to Ohio State, Kevin Murar was almost at a loss for words.
"It was the most boring game I've ever seen here," said the University of Michigan student from Rochester Hills.
Michigan's 14-3 loss to Ohio State on Saturday left Wolverine fans in a somber and subdued mood. The thousands of fans left in such silence that on some streets surrounding the stadium the only sounds were car radios and boisterous Ohio State fans a block away.
...
"It got so bad, I couldn't even watch it," said Brendan Kirchner, a U-M student from Waterford, who walked out of Michigan Stadium before the game had ended.
The game is sure to reignite debate among fans about the future of Michigan coach Lloyd Carr. "The feeling around campus was if we lose today, then he's gone," said Kirchner.
