If it is flat, then my plan for a tunnel to China, which I tried to register with the patent office in 1956, is far more doable. All you'd need is several large dogs, a backyard in Ohio and one in Beijing and a bone. We could then make two slides, one for US to China and one for the return, and you could take a piece of wax paper and a pair of those bicyclist pants with the padded rear end and maybe a burlap bag to bring the egg foo yung and sweet and sour pork back... oh, and don't forget the noodles and the hot mustard.... and one of those nice vases, and some silk and a jade statue of Chairman Mao...and a concubine... are they anything like a porcupine?
