Johannesburg hospitals surveyed the dogs behind dog bite visits to the emergency room. Jack Russell terriers were #1 by a long shot. :argh:
Interesting. I think probably the mistake here is that they're confused for being a toy companion dog, and they're not. (That and y'all probably just don't have enough Chihuahuas for them to take the lead they deserve). I have a smooth fox terrier and he's amazing with kids. But he is bigger than a JRT and he also has this really good kinda warning growl to communicate you've crossed a line instead of biting for keeps right out of the gate. And there's a difference between a nip and going to the mattresses.
