The Buttocks' are heading to LA!

Venice Beach is a fun experience to walk through... lots of very unique people there. Might do it without the kids, I'll let OCBF/W comment on that.
Next weekend, the Buttocks' are heading to LA.
Here I thought you were leaving for good. :sad2:

Now there's a piece of advice I never thought I'd see... If you go to LA, be sure to try the BBQ.

BKB, if you run into Petey, make sure you give him a swift kick in the buttocks. Get him good and ready for September 13.

I agree, Muck! LA is definitely not a BBQ mecca. However, BKB, if you are coming and you happen to want BBQ, then eat where the locals eat:

1. JR's BBQ / 3055 South La Cienega Blvd / Culver City CA
2. Baby Blues BBQ / 444 Lincoln Blvd. / Venice CA

One is a Texas wannabe, the other is a Carolina Clone, but nevertheless, if you are like me and eat big, then I like to pay for quantity as well as quality. These fit that bill much nicer. Both have websites, but I couldn't figure out how to cut/paste them here for you.

Nothing wrong w/Hustons if you like paying way too much...but the talent can be very special, both staff and customers, and that's definitely worth something if you have that as a priority. Depends on what you're looking for, and who you're with, I guess.

All the other advice here seems appropriate. If you happen to know very specifically what you are looking for, or what you might want to do, give me a heads up and I'd be glad to help if I can.
And I second Muck's swift kick...BIG TIME!

We are staying in Pacific Palisades with some family...

Was hoping for some advice on a very nice restaurant to take them to dinner one night (sans kids)...

Daytime stuff will be more for the kids... are there things for kiddos to do at santa monica pier?

Anything fun to do one night with the kids in tow as well?

The pier does have a ferris wheel, a roller coaster and a carousal if I remember correctly. Just off the Pier were some shops, mainly touristy type things but some cool stuff none the less

If in Santa Monica, you can check out the 3rd Street Promenade too. Lots of restaurants, shops, street entertainers, etc.

3rd street promenade loc: Pacific Palisades, CA, USA - Google Maps

Downtown Santa Monica - Third Street Promenade - shopping dining farmers market and entertainment by the best california beach

Hey BKB, you aren't very far from the Playboy Mansion up there, either. *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*
