Will the Bucyrus Bratwurst festival survive?
The festival which has been in existance for about 40 years is in danger of folding. This has been a major beer drinking weekend for me and I hate to see it go. Donations anyone? all we need is around $25,000.

BUCYRUS -- Fifteen-year-old Melissa Miller looks forward to the Bratwurst Festival every year. "I have never missed a year. I can't wait until this summer's festival," Miller said.

After hearing the festival might be in financial trouble, Miller only had one response. "They need to find a way to keep having the festival," Miller said.
Miller's friend, Alissia Wilson, does not want to see the festival end.
"It's fun and gives us teens something to do before school starts. It's like the last big event before school starts," Wilson said. Festival Director Greg Northrop is looking down several financial avenues to help fund the festival after a recent meeting with Bucyrus City Council. The city says it cannot afford to pay money for fire, police, electric and sanitation for the festival without being reimbursed by the festival board.
