The Buckeye National Championship Teams (and several near misses)

MililaniBuckeye;1052004; said:
Great stuff, LJB, but wasn't Woody's go-for-two with 48 points on in the board in the 1968 Game, and not the 1961 Game?
When asked why he went for two despite a 36-point lead against Michigan, Hayes quipped, "Because I couldn't go for three."

The greatest line ever spoken by a Buckeye.

Great job,and super work

The 2 point conversion failed in 1968 but worked in 1961. Many times I see the story being told wrong about it happeningit happening in 1968. They did go for it but didnt make it.

LJB has it right

Sooo another punch myself in the cock out of self loathing and off season malaise topic/thread. Cool.

I didn’t ask Johanna rottencrotch to the prom in ‘86. Let me sit here and fucking stew about it. That’ll help.

just pass me the bottle and piss off.

Fucking MSU

Avoiding crabs and the clap > losing out on a national title

Crabs and Clap are the least of your worries there. Losing your kids and half your stuff and half your income for a period of time that surpasses any sense of reason... And even then it's sometimes a small price to pay to get rid of the third "C"... Crazy.

A season where the Buckeyes end in the top 5 is a good one, even if we have good reason to believe they were the best that year but an unfortunate series of events prevents a title. Yes, it's happened to the Buckeyes far more than most because the Buckeyes have been consistently good at a higher level for more seasons than any other team in college football. This has been documented by me and others on this board in such a way that it is (or shouldn't be) a remotely controversial statement here. So there's good reason to believe it's happened to the Buckeyes more than any other team, full-stop. It beats what TTUN is going through by miles.

There have been 3 undefeated seasons in my lifetime. There have been a LOT of very good seasons, every one of them better than any of the three Cs that the Johannas of the world have to offer.
