Wake me when the playoffs start.

Each week I read my issue of SI from start to finish, and I've done that for years. This week I decided to ignore the baseball preview, which is about 75 pages of the extra-large issue last week.

I saved about 2 hours of worthless reading.

Get a salary cap so it's not SAWX-YANKS every year.

Get a drug policy that isn't a joke.

Then maybe I'll care a little about baseball again. Maybe.

Sitting around in my underwear....
We got off to a rough start last night but we'll rebound and repeat.

Dunn ... another 2-run homer in the 9th, followed by a Joe Randa walk-off homer.

Reds win 7-6

A carbon copy of the way the Reds started the season last year. 16 strike outs isn't going to get it done. Pedro appeared to regain his form after serving up Dunn's first homer in the 1st - K'd 12.

Pimp Minister Sinister
Thump: "I don't acknowledge the start of baseball season until the Reds take the field. That has always been the ceremonial start to the MLB season being that they were the first franchise."

I'm not a Reds fan, but I also don't like the idea that this long-standing tradition has gone by the wayside. But, since baseball's record book has been degraded to a hoax over the last ten + seasons, we might as well throw every other piece of tradition and history out the door as well.
