I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the Buckeye faithful. First, good luck on the rest of your season and may it go the way you all hope for. ( Unless it is against us of course)

Now from one great tradition to another I would like to express my gratitude to the Administrators of this site for removing and subsequently requesting that pictures of Tyrone Prothro’s unfortunate injury not be posted on this site. Out of respect to him and his family most SEC boards have decided to buck the trend of sensationalism at any cost and subsequently banned these “horrorgraphic” images. I applaud the Buckeye faithful and this board for doing the same. Thank you ever so much.

I loved what I saw out of Alabama football. They seemed like a mirror image of how we get it done every saturday (suffocating defense, big plays, solid QB play).

It was awful watching #4 go down, he was incredible that day.

Great job Admins and Mods. Very classy. I know I wouldn't want my injury plastered all over the Internet. And it has to make his loved ones sick to their stomach to see that. Like reliving it over and over. I stopped watching that game once it became a blowout, but the sports media made sure I saw the injury 8000 times. :( Glad to see him give the crowd the "I'll be OK sign" when he was on the cart. Hope he recovers and gets back on the field in the future.

I totally agree with this. There was some real hitting going on in that game, and most of it was being handed out by the Tide. It was nice to see a resurgent traditional power use some fundamentally sound football to kick the ass of the Urban Legends from Gator-land.

And having 3 really tough teams in each division of the SEC (Tenn/Ga/Fla and Bama/Auburn/LSU) will be a good thing for the Buckeyes for the forseeable future of the BCS.

i was really rooting for prothro too because he is kind of a role model in myself. i always cheer for the little guys like myself and love to see them do well. i honestly underestimated bama and was really impressed with their fundamental play in that game. i wish prothro the best of luck. i think he will be back next season. i dont see his injury as career ending its more a matter of getting back in shape from that type of injury and strengthing it so it doesnt break again. im sure bama's staff will work with him all the way.:)

I agree its good to take such pictures off the internet, because that was one sickening injury to see. Not only because of the injury itself but to whom it happened to. After watching that big catch he made earlier this year he caught my attention, so going into last saturday I was happy to see Prothro and Bama take on Florida on CBS. I watched pretty much the entire game while flipping back n forth, and I unfortunately saw it happen live. From what I remember hearing the announcers say isn't Prothro a bama native? Its good to see guys goto the school they grew up rooting for instead of taking the trip out to the West Coast to play for USC or even down in Florida to play for FSU,Florida,or Miami-especially after Bama's recent troubles.

I went thru a "similar" injury my junior season in highschool, while taking an option pitch around the end I tried hurdling the SS right as I caugh the pitch and I got flipped end over end and came down on my right wrist snapping it and tearing basically all the ligaments in it. Of course, it was only a wrist. A leg injury like Prothros would be much harder to come back from because he'll obviously be unable to walk let alone run for quite some time. The only thing that really held me back following that injury is that I didn't get much bigger between my junior/senior year because I was unable to lift
