First of all Columbus you should be proud. I have been in games in the World Seies, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Finals, and a Superbowl. As a diehard Michigan fan I have been to dozens of games in the Big House, and 2 Rose Bowls. However, nothing compares to the atmosphere that I experienced last weekend. You displayed the the ultimate experience any college football fan could have wished for. And that is saying alot considering that my team lost.

In Michigan, there are horror stories about how we are treated in Columbus, but everyone was respectful with their "hatered". It was amazing to witness diehard football fans, an excellent stadium and campus, and a classic of a football game. It was great for the rivarly and great for the Big Ten.

There was no doubt OSU was teh better team, and Troy Smith was unbellievable. I was always against a rematch, because it would not be fair for the winner to prove they could beat the other again. However I believe Michigan is the 2nd best team in the country, and screw the Pac Ten and SEC. Based on what I experienced last weekend It would be crazy not to repeat that in Glendale. Go Bucks, Go Blue, Go the best rivarly in all sports!!

You had me at 'Thank you'.

Great post. Glad you appreciated the experience. The greatness of The Game this year benefits both teams.

But my opinion differs on the rematch. If TSUN had won, I think it's likely you'd oppose it also.

Welcome aboard. Glad you had a good time. I think Bo's passing helped hammer home an important point about our rivalry, and one that I think can be said to have gotten away from some people on both sides of The Game... we're "hated rivals" for a reason, and that's because the other has earned our begrudging respect on the field over the coarse of time.

Michigan had the 90s, and Ohio State fans respect factor turned more towards Hatfield McCoy hate, I'd say. Ohio State has had the 00s for now.. maybe Michigan gets to the Hatfield McCoy level at some point, maybe not. In any case, any 10 year run either team may dominate, but over all what makes our rivalry the best is guys like Woody, guys like Bo, and the fans who love thier teams enough to feel it when they loose.

Great post. Glad you had a great time. I had a great time too. The atmosphere was really electric. You are correct, the Ohio State Michigan game to truely the best rivarly in all of sports. Therefore, if you happen come across a couple extra tickets for next years Michigan - Ohio State game, please PM me.

P.S.
I'm envious that you got to go to a Stanley Cup final game. We in Columbus may never get that opportunity. The Blue Jackets have been playing like "crap" and lost again tonight.

Nice post. The GAME is special whether it is at Columbus or at Ann Arbor. But it does not justify transferring to Arizona for the second time in a year, with back to back meetings. And, I should point out, I posted exactly that on Buckeye websites prior to the game. The meaningfulness and great tradition of the GAME would be tarnished immensely by such a repeat IMHO.
The BCS needs to define that no team may participate in the NC game unless it is a conference champion (except for the Domers of the world who aren't in one, of course).
I am possibly in the minority on a board like this, but I would be happy to root for Michigan in the Rose or other Bowl. But then, I am a 59 year Buckeye fan, and an old guy, so I don't really care if I am in the minority or not ;0)
There is way too much talk about hatred on the fan sites of these two schools.

Go Bucks! :)

You're right

It's truly the best rivalry ever. The best opponents ever. I loved the 2003 National Championship, what an incredible game. But beating Michigan that year was more important to me personally.

If we hadn't had the John Cooper years, I don't think we could have the Tressel years. I'm not sure that makes sense, but I'm so proud of this team.

Last year, we could have given USC a real game, although few would have believed it. Man, wasn't it great seeing AJ pummel Brady Quinn?

This year, Troy Smith became a true living breathing legend.

Wow, it's great to be a Buckeye!

Glad you had good time, Dr., and thanks for dropping by to tell us about it.

I went to every one of Cooper's OSU/michigan games, and even then when the michigan fans had every right to give us shit, most of them either did so with genuine good humor or kept it to themselves. I sat in the big house many times and was treated very well, and had some good conversations with many wolverines. I think that's what keeps the rivalry great- when the "hate" stays on a respectful level its more fun for everyone.
