Kyle Young/Cade Stover man crush. Stomp!
  • Maybe this doesn't deserve its own thread, maybe it does. All I know is that I'm proud of our boys this season for fighting every Saturday. They could have easily packed it in when they lost 5 starters and a potential Heisman candidate. They could have easily felt sorry for themselves when they lost a legendary coach in Mr. Jim Tressel. Say what you want to, he's a Buckeye legend. They could have easily said "Luke Fickell cannot lead us to the promise land". Maybe some of them did mentally check out from time to time, but what I saw out of 95% of these Buckeyes this year was the will and determination to persevere through all of the crap that the entire sports nation was trying to bury them under.

Look how many underclassmen played this season. Ridiculous. Look how many guys were asked to step up and perform under scrutiny, some of them knowing that their spot was only temporary until a suspended player came back. Look how many guys were forced into action due to injury or necessity, and how many of them answered the call.

This season is unlike any Buckeye season I've ever witnessed in my 40 years. Not a great amount of time but I have witnessed great Buckeyes in it just the same. Luke Fickell. Buckeye through and through. Maybe it wasnt fair he was given his dream job with stipulations; maybe he wasn't ready. He gave his all just the same. Never has our glorious university been under attack as it has over the past 15 months or so. We still persevered. Has it ended the way we would have liked it to? Hell no, but the boys never quit. They got tired and some times they were beaten but the way they played today, they never quit.

That's what it means to be a Buckeye. Many bright days are ahead of us and even though most of us are sick to our stomachs today, we can wake up tomorrow with growing optimism. I'd rather lose as a Buckeye any day of my life than win a second of a game as a scummer, you can bet your ass on that!

Hold your heads high Buckeye brothers and sisters for this too shall pass. Tomorrow is the first day of a new streak against those bastards to the north and I can't wait for the next opportunity our boys get to teach them the meaning of dedication. 364 more days until we BEAT MICHIGAN!

    :oh:
