Thank you, 2007 NCAA National Championship Runner-up Ohio State Buckeyes

Thank you to the players, coaches, and administrators who have made this basketball season such a rare pleasure. It has been two generations since we played in the NCAA national championship final game and it was so much fun to watch Ohio State get to this platform of excellence.

The game has just replayed on South African television and watching the second time inspired me to say something in a new thread.

You guys did this the right way. You went out there and you held your heads high and you gave them your best shot on the night. A few shots drop from the outside and this would have been a very close game, perhaps even a victory.

Like fans anywhere who had a team accomplish what you did, we are proud of your accomplishments this year. But, more importantly as far as I am concerned, we are proud of the way that you conducted yourselves and the real class you showed. You made a whole lot of people feel proud to be Buckeye fans again.

And for that I am incredibly thankful. Well done! We are just dying to line 'em up again and see what you guys accomplish next year.

Like I said in the game thread, I was absolutely floored by how hard these kids were still going after it even as the game was out of reach with time winding down. Speaks volumes about the pride of the players and the coaching staff. Was a treat to watch.

How true, it very was unfortunate that he decided to retire a year or so before he actually wanted to because of the Clarett problems and NCAA investigations.

My wife listens to WTVN talk radio and said that their sports guy said late yesterday afternoon that after the game the team took this defeat extremely hard and that in the locker room there were some tears shed after the game.

In my book, they went further than I thought they would and I am even more proud of them that they took this defeat so hard.
