There are so many plays in that game that if we would have "finished", we would have won. I don't know if we'd beat them now. It'd be another instant classic for sure and I would bet there would be ten or so plays you could point to again that would determine the game...same as before...I was privedged to be there and let me tell you, it was a Bowl Game in September. No doubt.

First game was a coin toss... if we played them again, it would be another coin toss... so we could beat them, sure... might not though.

The way Troy Smith has come on in the latter stages of the season I would have to say Ohio State would win it. But the Texas secondary also had improved also. The TExas / So.Cal game will be a good measuring stick for Ohio State to see how we good we would have been, if we were in Texas's place in the RoseBowl.

I absolutely loathe the Whiny Orange so that may affect my thoughts on this but I really think they are the most over-rated team in the country. the Big 12 is really down this year - very down. they have played NO ONE since they played us. the day after Thanksgiving the Ags (very bad team) ran all over them.

last year everyone THOUGHT OU was so good and then the Trojans re-educated everyone. am thinking that process will occur again Jan 4. the world will see the Horns are not that good.

so the direct answer to your question is YES, we'd maul'em. about the only teams I'd worry about right now are USC (a juggernaut) and Auburn (very hot team). Texas here, Texas there, Texas on a neutral field is a team we can beat and would beat.

The same could be said about USCum. Outside of a barnburner in South Bend, who have they beat? Yeah, Oregon and UCLA, but are their inflated records a case of the PAC-10 being down? The Trojans have let a lot of teams gain a good bit of yardage on them, and an average ASU team and Fresno St. (!) take them deep into the game. I personally feel Texas will win this game because they seem to have the edge in the trenches and a better overall defense.

Don't wanna disrespect, but I dunno how you can call em overrated after they beat us. Sure, the game could have gone our way in one play, but we lost. They won, it doesn't matter how...they won. Beat us in our house at night of all places. Every team has an off-game, and Texas's was against A&M...but still, they won 40-29. The Big-12 is terrible, yes...everyone knows that, and Texas has been bitch-slapping everyone in that conference as expected. If they were held in close games, then yes, they'd be overrated.

very good point except ucla laid the wood to oklahoma this year and the big 12 sucks even worse than the pac 10 this year.

exactly! TU just hasn't played anybody who is decent. USC has played some good competition and the PC 10 is better than the Big (flop) 12.

how can I say they are over-rated when they beat us? THAT WAS IN SEPTEMBER! we NEARLY beat them then, and we're much better now than then. I guarantee you Mack & Co. want no part of us now. not that having a date with Reggie Bush is much better....

TU hasn't seen anything remotely like USC's offense. but they are fixin' to get a very good look....

the only question is "Does Reggie Bush have 200 yards by the end of the first half or will it take till the end of the third quarter?"

I have a feeling Mack & Co. (and the rest of us Longhorn fans) can't wait to get the Buckeyes in Austin in early September next year (where the temperature on the field is likely to be around 115 degrees, and I'm not kidding). Start making your excuses now, DallasBuckeye. I was at the game in C-bus this year, loved the experience, and ended up becoming a Buckeye fan too. But I hate it when fans crap talk like you after the fact, and make excuses (you think it wasn't early in the season for Texas? you don't think that they are a better team now too?). You had your opportunity at home, and now you're going to have to come try your chances in our house. Believe me, we cannot wait to see this match-up again...

actually, I think Texas' defense is worse now than it was, and VY looked more human vs aTm. If you can't see a difference in troy, then I guess there's no point in discussing it.

Many have admitted that both teams have improved. I happen to think both defenses were playing lights out early, and texas' D has shown more weaknesses lately. Texas was putting up ridiculous points early and still are... OSU has learned how to do that too now.

I think it will be a great game next year, and a completely different one due to all of the stars that will be missing. I think another game this year would be a toss-up, but it definitely would be a different game.
