Texas-Ohio State will play in primetime on ABC

The greatest thing is that any recruit in the country will want to come to C-bus for a free ticket to this game. It's easily the best OOC game in years, with huge implications for the NC race. Regardless of whether they wanted to go to either school, wouldn't you like to go to a night game of this caliber and be pampered all the way?

How much should I suspect to pay for a decent seat and how hard will they be to get?
"A lot" and "very".

If you're looking to a scalper for this one, count on dropping at least 3 bills. Get down to campus early in the a.m. and get what you can. Tejas is gonna bring a ton of fans with them. When Texas Tech came up to be victim #1 in 2002, they brought 8 buses of cowboys with them. (tibor would have been in heaven)

Watching the temp rise on this site... the game won't be half as much fun if the Bucks are too busy thinking about Texas to remember to be ready for Miami. New coach, no more Big Ben, but they can play Big 10 ball until injuries and fatigue force them to go to the bench. Still, it's hard not to look past them and contemplate the Texas game.

Here's some comments by Pete Fiutak about this night game. (I was not the 'BB' who sent in this question):

ABC just announced that the biggest non-conference game of the year will be played at 8PM under the lights. Troy Smith should be back and the Buckeyes do not lose a home night game. I know you will be talking about this game in 5 months, but other than giving the fans more time to tailgate, does the kickoff time make a difference to you? – BB

A: It jacks up the excitement that much more. Being a primetime game on national television raised the stakes on a game that won’t need much more hype. The late start time means the crowd will be that much more, uh, festive, and will make September 10th a fun day with all the early games leading up to the main event. On an X and O level, it likely favors Ohio State since the temperature will be cooler at night making the defense less tired when it has to chase around Vince Young. However, the late time puts more pressure on Ohio State since it adds more hype to a home game. Texas will be the underdog and can come in loose. As cool as this non-conference game will be, it goes to show how sad the state of non-conference games is that there aren't more fun ones like this to talk about.

Son of a Pants! A friend of mine is getting married that day at 6:00. He says the reception hall has TVs, but I still don't like it.

Who gets married during football season, anyway?
I would boycott the damn wedding!!! No fuckin way am I going ANYWHERE but OHIO STADIUM on Sept 10th. I can see it now...all night party Friday at the VC and all day partying in the RV lots and HineyGate...I'll probably walk back and forth ten times before kickoff!
This is the BIGGEST out of conference game I can remember in probably, well before I was there 15 yrs ago...no wait USC came to town that year...we all remember that one...Our last Loss I believe from a OC team in Ohio Stadium. That was my FIRST EVER Ohio State football game in person...unfuckingbelievable!!! I remember running back to Baker Hall in the storm and calling my parents to tell them how fuckin awesome it was! The next spring I was on the team!
In my book I am almost looking forward to this game more than a lot of recent Michigan games...only b/c it's NEW and an ALL DAY AFFAIR! I don't like to mess with TRADITION, BUT what if a UM game were at night? HMMM?

Hey there... I have to... err I am getting married that day too... can't help we chose that day long ago, and I thought it would be a day game and have a late wedding.

At least I have moved the wedding up in the day so we can catch most if not all the game at the after party at BW3's!

You're going to BW3 after your own wedding? AWESOME!

My buddy's only saving grace is he says the reception hall (somewhere at Cleveland Clowns Stadium) has TVs all over the place. He better be sitting me next to one of them.

Yep, it is kinda funny cause I don't think she realizes yet the only reason I want the post wedding party to be at BW3s is the game... reception should be over around 8:30 or so, so may just miss the first quarter, not too bad :)
