I spent an unhealthy amount of time in the offseason telling Texas fans that Arch wasn’t good and there was nothing shown previously that he would live up to the insane hype. It’s been great to see lol

This guy's a real jerk
One night a while ago I was bartending at job 2 (most football talk around here is shallow bullshit about the Pats) and a guy was saying how badly he wanted the Pats to tank, giving them a couple years to build, then draft Arch as a sort of crown jewel/final piece. Mind you he hasn't played a singular fucking snap at this point, it was early fall 2023.
I told him, the kid isn't gonna be that guy, it's as simple as watching his HS film, nothing warranted the hype, other than his name.
Oddly enough, I didn't realize how right I actually was. One of the greatest con jobs in the history of sports media.
Not to say he won't improve, he has a lot of time, but the anointment was shockingly premature, and had nothing to back it up.
