Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

I haven't laughed at something on the internet this hard since at least the Strassini incident. Holy fuckballs :slappy:
I'm so, so very fucking happy that ESPN chose this moment to employ their tortious interference to coax Thujone von Thujone out of retirement.

Brilliant!

Texas president Jay Hartzell sat for nearly six hours in a small committee room in the Texas capitol Monday as members of the state senate held a hearing on the future of college athletics following the Sooners and Longhorns’ jump to the SEC.

Hartzell’s University endured its share of barbs while he watched – Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades notably said Texas felt “too little of themselves” in joining the SEC – but Hartzell eventually got his turn to speak, the first time any representative from Texas discussed the move.

Hartzell revealed the Longhorns reached out to the SEC during the 2021 spring semester with Hartzell’s first call being with SEC commissioner Greg Sankey via Zoom. He also said Texas, at least internally, considered the ACC and Big Ten.
