Daaamn. Looks like the average price for a Texas game ticket as of 6/13/06 is $500-650 on ebay. Not that I'm terribly surprised, but all the more reason to hope I win the student ticket lottery.

Would be interesting to track the average price for a big game like this...get some real data to prove trends right or wrong.

anyone tried using ebay and been sucessful w/out being ripped off for tix?

I have done it multiple times. Just find someone who has a history of selling tickets. Most are small time ticket brokers and need the good rep to sell. If they are not a regular seller, then call them before you pay them. Some people are even wiling to meet you in order to sell them. The best deals are from season ticket holders who randomly sell their tickets.

Honestly, I think they are the best deal on the web as long as you are careful. I even made cash by buying tickets on ebay and selling them later because someone backed out.

I bought my tix off ebay last year for the ohio state - texas game, and agreed to meet up at the stadium to do the exchange

They are suggesting package costs could run as follows:
Quad occupancy - ground (you make your own way) $905, with chartered air quad occupancy $1500.
If you really need that silent night of sleep $2000 is a single with air travel.

Ticket, ground transportation to and from hotel, two hotel nights and Friday Saturday entertainment included.

Given the going rate for the tickets and all that the prices sound A - steep, and B- about right.

Yeah, I wonder what hotel their going to stay at too...every hotel close to campus is booked solid for that weekend. Unless they have the hookup to one of these hotels, I'm guessing they're going to stay in one of the suburbs.
