Game Thread Texas at tOSU, Sat. Aug. 30th, noon ET on FOX

And you also understand that Fox puts it's premier game at the noon slot, right? It's literally the entire concept for them. Fan delusions thinking they can change things around on a whim are entertaining but unrealistic.

Fox won't move this game to any night time start. It has another contract with the MLB. MLB isn't going anywhere.
Step back from the ledge, it’s May.
Guys, obviously I know what Fox markets their noon games for. I know that they aren’t going to change.

I’m just saying I think they’re making an error when you have games like this out of conference. Night games generally do better numbers so when you have the top two heavyweights in the sports somehow playing week 1 I think if it’s about numbers and ratings then you throw it at night.

Again, I understand their marketing strategy but if it’s about ratings which means dollars down the road they aren’t doing themselves any favors with these big non conference games.

First I have a reputation to uphold here.

Second it’s the off season baby!
Ha!
First, yeah, I'm not sure you want to uphold this one.
Second, that's true. And there are worse things to complain about. But, here's a list of better things to complain about:
- Old playoff format
- New playoff format
- Proposed playoff formats
- That time in 1974 when Ohio State beat Michigan State but then later on it was determined that Michigan State won.
- Broccoli
- Other people are complaining about things that I don't think need to be complained about.
- Younger generations of kids
- Older generations of old people

You guys could make a lot of money if you reached out to them and told them about the mistakes they are making.

Charge a hefty consulting fee/success fee. Those idiots just give money away

Believe it or not… I don’t carry much weight with Fox.

I thought we’d agree this doesn’t make business sense so I’m surprised.

I get that Fox is doing just fine and it’s their brand of marketing. I thought it would be unanimous that night games do draw more viewers?

Does Fox have a contract with MLB to always have a Saturday night game? For some reason, I think they do.
Maybe when that contract is up, we can hope for some night games on Fox.
And for the record, I like night games, too. I would prefer that this game be a night game. But I just know that Fox probably knows what they're doing.

If the game does get moved, the FOX lackey's in here are gonna be in shambles :slappy:
I haven’t really been part of this discussion, but it seems to me that it’s been a disagreement between people unhappy with the number of noon kickoffs and people who are unbothered by it. From my perspective, calling them Fox lackeys is intellectually dishonest at best

It has been quite a bit more than that, but it's not a big deal. Nobody here is a victim

This is...interesting. Not sure why the hell Texas would have any say here?

That tweet sure leaves out a key element - OSU proposed to move it back a day in addition to making it an evening game. I'm glad TX said 'no thanks' as I have tickets to NIN on the 31st:-)
