Test driving an HTC Fuze

This is my first foray into the world of "smart" phones and so far I have mixed reviews. But what the hell, I'm testing it for free because AT&T is trying to get me to sign a contract for about 100 of them at work.

I think if I was a 20 year old college student I would love it with all the social applications, video, phone, music, etc.. From a business application standpoint, I'm definitely not sold on it, yet. Guess I'll just have to take it to Vegas with me for a few days.

Does anyone know of similar phones that work well with web-based software applications for business, specifically in the medical services area? Is the Fuze a good option and I just have to get used to it?

Blackberry's. I have the T-mobile G1 (Unlocked on At&T). Absolutely love it, but if you unlock it and use it on At&t, you lose the 3G.

Unfortunately, Blackberry isn't an option for our business because our new software's mobile format isn't compatible. It runs on Windows Mobile.

I might get one for my personal use, though.

I tried out an HTC Fuze in an AT&T store a few weeks back, and the interface felt really clunky. It felt like a pretty interface with no power to run it... moving around it seemed a bit slow. Maybe that was just the floor model, but I was not impressed. Anyone else have experience with the phone?

We got the Sprint HTC Touch Diamond for work last year when they were just coming out. It was the best choice of the ones we were able to pick from, but I really wish we would have been able to wait and get the Touch Pro (AT&T Fuze) for the keyboard. The full software keyboard on the Diamond is pretty small, but there is the option to change it to the compact qwerty version and the predictive text is pretty good.

It takes a little bit to get the interface/touches down right, but then it works pretty well. I definitely like having a "full" browser with opera mobile, and email works very well with it for both ActiveSync and GMail IMAP. I haven't noticed it being sluggish really, but it does lock up every now and has to be powered off and back on. There is a recently "leaked" ROM out there that has bug fixes and improvements. I only wish that Sprint would make it an official patch so I don't void my warranty by applying it. I know one of my co-workers has loaded it and he said it fixed many of the problems he initially had, specifically better signal and better overall performance.

I like my phone overall. We used to have the Motorola Q9h before this one. I'd take the Diamond over the Q and definitely the Touch Pro (Fuze) over both. There may be a better option out there, but I think the Fuze would be a good choice.

Plus, the good news about windows mobile (and specifically HTC) is that if you don't like it, somebody has already made a fix for it. Check out XDA-Develpers forums for all your HTC needs:
