Tennessee Recruiting-in the crapper!!

I saw that come out in the Helwagon chat and thought it was really unfortunate. It only triggers speculation and as soon as you mention more than two teams you have done a disservice to somebody. After all we have been through we should be sensitive to that.

Now that the PC stuff is out of the way - I figured it was Auburn in the SEC. We were hearing noise that both Hart and McClover were heading this way. Then came last minute switches that were inconsistent with comments they had been making. I said at the time something was fishy.

As for a Big Ten team - I was shocked to read that. If it is not Michigan or PSU some boosters need to get their money back - and I can't believe it is either of them.

If you read all the statements that came out of the Albert Means recruitment, subsequent Bama probation, and even more subsequent court action with the major players, it is quite evident who Conley was talking about with regards to the Big Ten. I don't whether they still do it, but here was only one Big Ten team who Means' coaches mention as offering an inducement to Means.

There is very little question the SEC team to which Conley is referring is Auburn. Remember that Conley was the point man on Stanley McClover's recruitment, as he was responsible for recruiting Dade County at OSU. There is slight possibility that he is referring to Kentucky given that the coaches thought they had Antonio Hall all sewn up and he ended up in Lexington.
