It was the inability of the colleges to police the game themselves that led to Teddy Roosevelt threatening to ban the game In 1906. This included the Ivies where players were free to hang around the campus for as long as they were useful. Thus was born the NCAA.
This ruling suggests the NCAA now has as many teeth as the average Tennessee fan. It also suggests that the schools believe they should be the arbiters. (See Cheeseburgers in Paradise by little Jimmy Harbaugh and the UM Administors.)

I’m pretty sure if we knew him in the real world, and thank Woody I don’t, it wouldn’t be that crazy at all.
