Teddy Bridgewater (QB Denver Broncos)

Rivals (free)

Ask Jamie: Who is the top junior in Florida?
Jamie Newberg

...
Florida's top junior?
Have you had a chance yet to see junior James Wilder? What about Teddy Bridgewater and Timmy Jernigan? Who's the top prospect from that group, and is that prospect the top one in Florida next season?
-- Eric from Pensacola, Fla.

...
So how do you grade this trio and who comes out on top? That's hard to say right now. I would lean more toward Wilder or Jernigan, although Bridgewater could be the prospect with the highest risk and highest reward.

Scout $ - Bridgewater has 'It'

By Chad Simmons
Posted Nov 12, 2009

Simmons says that despite only having played QB for a year, Bridgewater is the top QB in the south - in any class. His pluses include his size, athleticism, composure, arm strength, and touch on deep balls. He needs to work on reading defenses and his mechanics.

Northwestern, South Dade roll in regional
BY ANDRE C. FERNANDEZ
[email protected]

Northwestern quarterback Teddy Bridgewater wasn't quite sure why Traz Powell Stadium announcer Willie Wilcox kept calling him ``The Doctor'' on Thursday night.

The way Bridgewater dissected Coral Gables' defense might have been the inspiration.

Bridgewater completed 24 of 28 passes for a season-high 390 yards and threw four touchdowns to lead the Bulls to a 50-7 victory against Coral Gables in a Region 4-6A quarterfinal.

Though Bridgewater completed 13 of 15 passes, he only threw for 147 yards and ran for minus-13 yards on 13 carries.

Teddy Bridgewater
QB, Miami Northwestern (Miami, Fla.)
Following in the footsteps of Miami Hurricanes star Jacory Harris, Bridgewater is the next great signal-caller at Northwestern. He set a Miami-Dade County record with seven touchdown passes in a win over Hialeah-Miami Lakes (Hialeah, Fla.) this past season, completing 141-of-234 passes on the year for 2,156 yards and 28 touchdowns. Bridgewater added 366 yards and five scores on the ground and led the Bulls to the Class 6A regional semifinals.

Northwestern coach: "There is no rift with UM"
January 27, 2010
Manny Navarro

...
In fact, he said UM is on solid ground with three of the Bulls' premier 2011 recruits: quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, receiver Eli Rogers and linebacker Lyndon Edwards. In fact, Bridgewater, considered the top player in the state in 2011, told me his love for the Hurricanes hasn't changed.

"I've always a good feeling about the Miami Hurricanes," Bridgewater said. "They're my hometown school and I've watched them put a lot of players in the NFL. As far as Jacory, I watched him as much I could this season and picked up as many things as I could from him. I like the way he puts touch on his passes.

"What they did to Todd Chandler, it's just what college is. It opened some eyes. You may be committed to a college and you never know what can happen. In the end, Miami did what it had to do. Since my ninth grade year, I've seen a lot of my teammates go there and play. Right now, I'm wide open. I've got six offers -- Florida, Miami, Tennessee, West Virginia, Rutgers and FIU. My plan is to take as much time as I need to figure it out."

Says he's still wide open & one factor will be African-American grad rates...[/quote]

This just makes absolutely no sense to me. What does it matter if you are white, black, or purple. Whether or not you graduate is 100% determined by yourself and the work you put in. Instead, he sounds like he will put stock into an inaccurate statistic to point him in the right direction. Misgiuded thinking imo...

How is did you graduate "yes or no" an inaccurate statistic? Not every kid comes from the same background or gets to see people from their community simply go to college (no sports scholarship) and graduate. He could be looking at this as are the schools more interested in bringing kids from his community (or communities like his) to simply win games without a care if you graduate or not.

if you graduate or not depends on one thing. that one thing doesn't change, even if you change schools 100 times.
