Ted Ginn for Josh Cribbs?

  • NFL trades are rare, and rumors are rumors, but some say the Dolphins are pursuing Cribbs after losing their primary return man to injury. Given his contract squabble with the Browns they may be listening to offers.

Meanwhile, Ginn was drafted by the previous regime in Miami and hasn't lived up to expectations. Coming back to Cleveland might be a good thing for him.

Cribbs has been a better return man than Ginn in the pros but Ginn has been a better WR, which isn't saying a lot in this case.

How about it, Browns fans? Would you like this move?

    Tough question...

I would love watching Ted Ginn play pro ball in Cleveland, for sure. But.. I'm not sure how I feel about the Brownies trading away their only significant scoring threat for it. Cribbs has been pretty unbelievable in his role....
    This.

At this point, Teddy would be useless in Cleveland. He's not nearly as dynamic a return man as Cribbs and would have nobody to get him the ball as a reciever anyway.

Ginn finally got a QB with an arm big enough to use him as a deep threat. Going to Cleveland would be like taking him a step back from his Pennington days.

From everything I've heard Anderson has as big of an arm as anyone.

I'd have to think about this trade, but I don't know if I could pull the trigger. Cribbs does everything when it comes to ST. In theory Ginn should be able to do most of what Cribbs does better than Cribbs (except tackle), but he doesn't. The Browns have enough undersized WR's with suspect hands so I don't know if this would be a good move seeing what they would give up.

Ummmm....no. Without a potent offense, one needs a return game to stand a chance to win (see Denver last night, though their offense is good). Ginn is a reasonable pro, but he's no Josh Cribbs. Cribbs is more valuable on special teams than Ginn is as a receiver to me.

Of course Cribbs might be the only player that the Browns are actually getting good value out of what they're spending on him...which means he needs to be cut or traded immediately:lol:

Think Andre Rison is still available? Any more girlfriends burn down his house so he's looking for work?

Blah. I wouldn't mind that trade.. but Cribbs is our only productive player. He's half of the Browns first downs, rushing yards, and points last week.

DA has an arm, so Ginn could be good for a TD a game..

How about this trade.. BQ for Troy. Cribbs for Ginn. While we're in fantasy land - Jamal, Davis, and a 3rd round for Beanie and 1st, 2nd, 4th for Malcom Jenkins.

When the fans run JT out of town - Tressel will be welcome to coach the Browns.
