As a teacher, I found this article amusing. I have never been in a school-public or private-as a teacher or student, where the teachers were not expected to dress in a professional manner-tie or sweater in the winter, polo when it is warm. I don't know what kind of place would tolerate a teacher wearing flip flops or jeans every day-or have an environment where a teacher might think it is OK to wear a marijuana belt buckle in school. Personally, I think our Catholic school is a little lax in how it expects male teachers to dress-I don't think a teacher should come into school on a non-dress down day wearing even a "nice" t-shirt or a shirt w/out a collar. I think ties or sweaters should be mandatory.
