TE Jeff Heuerman (National Champion)

ACROSS THE SHIELD: MICHAEL THOMAS REACHES HISTORIC MILESTONE, ELI APPLE MAKES SAINTS DEBUT AND JEFF HEUERMAN NOTCHES TOUCHDOWN

JEFF HEUERMAN CATCHES TOUCHDOWN

For the first time this season, the Denver Broncos tight end found the end zone.

Nice Spanish call, right? The catch was the only one Heuerman recorded on the day, but it was obviously significant. Unfortunately, the Broncos fell to the Chiefs.

Farrell is turning into that guy. He has done a very nice job setting the edge run blocking the past 2 weeks with this TE-heavy, new-look offense.

Rashod Berry has played that role very well too and they had a lot of success with it last year. Still waiting on the 2-RB sets to make an appearance. ttun week?

I like this 2-RB set the best personally. An appearance against TSUN would be most appreciated!

JEFF HEUERMAN NAMED BRONCOS' 2018 ED BLOCK COURAGE AWARD RECIPIENT

Jeff Heuerman's Bronco's teammates honored the former Buckeye captain's toughness, selecting Heuerman as their Ed Block Courage Award recipient.

From DenverBroncos.com:

Each year, the Ed Block Courage Award honors players who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. Heuerman was selected for the award by his teammates for his toughness in overcoming injuries while remaining team focused and passionate about the game.

The fourth-year tight end started 10-of-11 games played in 2018 and ranked third on the team with 31 receptions for 281 yards (9.1 avg.) with two touchdowns before sustaining fractured ribs and a bruised lung against Pittsburgh in Week 12. In addition to missing his entire rookie season in 2015 with a torn ACL, Heuerman has also battled through knee and ankle injuries the last few seasons.

The Ed Block Courage Award is named in honor of former Baltimore Colts athletic trainer Ed Block, known for his humanitarian efforts. Recipients are selected by their teammates for "exceptional courage, great character and inspiring effort."

6. JEFF HEUERMAN, 2013
A member of the most recent national championship team, Jeff Heuerman was at his best his junior year. The tight end averaged nearly 18 yards per catch (second in program history), nearly six yards higher than the team's per catch average (highest in program history).

Heuerman was an All-Big Ten honorable mention following the 2013 season. He returned for his senior year and recorded over 200 yards in 2014.
