TE/FB Mitch Rossi (Official Thread)

Buckeye4527: Hello again, with Mitch Rossi coming back what are his chances of becoming our starting tight end? Thanks

Helwagen: Starter? I'm not sure about that or whether he would be an every down tight end. He has more of a niche as a blocking back in some short yardage and goal line sets. I'd think Gee Scott Jr. or Joe Royer (whom Kevin Wilson talked about at the Rose Bowl) would be more likely to start and alternate. But it helps to have Rossi back in any capacity. Maybe he is the man to beat with that position now.

“I probably thought I’d be working in an office somewhere at this point, probably doing investment banking or something like that. I was just trying to get a finance degree and now I’m looking at playing in the NFL next year,” Rossi said. “It’s definitely been a change in mindset over the years, but I wouldn’t trade it. It’s been an awesome journey.”
