Please remember that Coach Tressel has always said that nothing good will happen after 10:30 in the evening. Lets be realistic here, Reggie Arden knew where he was going and knew who would be there. He probably knows many of the Marshall players and just wanted to hang with them, but never dreamed a confrontation would occur. There was probably some words exchanged in a kidding manner and it may have gotten out of control. After all boys will be boys.
Why do i say all this? It's because i have been out there in those situations in my younger days and i have been in those skirmishes myself. I lived in a small town called Struthers and we had no love for our rival and vice versa. Alot of the players from both teams would be out after the games and well the rest is history. So for Arden it was an unfortunate incident that should not have been.
The wee hours of the Nocturnal life can bring out the beast in a man. Our testosterone levels can reach an unusually high peak in those hours. Hell its only natural i guess. And -oh- by the way, I have to agree with "Mili". When you reach a high level like YSU and Marshall did in the 1-AA of college football, you have to wonder if you are really that good. When Tressel was at YSU he was very interested in scheduling Ohio State. For some unknown reason, that never occured.
But while tressle was at YSU we did beat the hurd 2 times out of 3, for the 1-AA N/C. And the last time in 2001, Youngstown State did give Marshall all they could handle but they lost. Marshall has always respected YSU. But for the love of me, I had better think that Marshall had better gain alot more respect for what will take place when they come into the "Shoe" september. Cause they are going to have to remember who the coach of Ohio State is.
